Tracy Sharp, HD 12, Truly Worth A Listen!

Our Montana House Representative for District 12, Tracy Sharp, held his audience captive at the Pachyderm Club meeting in Polson on May 23, 2025. With his great sense of humor, he painted his daunting task as a newbie in the legislature as FUN. Despite all the challenges he faced, he clearly came away as someone who accomplished a lot for us, the constituents. And the good news is, he is willing to continue the fight for us! Watch for the minutes of the meeting that will be posted under “Who We Are/Pachyderm Club”.

The audience had many questions for Tracy. For example, who exactly were the Nasty Nine? Well, here is a meme borrowed from Facebook as a reminder:

NOTE:

Tracy Sharp will be doing a presentation for Lake County Republican Women also at the July 7 meeting. Don’t miss it! Guests are welcome.

Volunteers Help Improve Local Governance

On April 25, Larry Ashcraft presented results of the audit a group of volunteering citizens is performing on Polson City.

Larry Ashcraft spoke to a full room at the Pachyderm Club meeting yesterday. It is already obvious that those who are most affected by decisions made by the City Council, for example, can bring about change just by being vigilant, asking questions, and keeping an eye on what is being done and how it is being done. Be sure to thank Larry and his four fellow committee members for volunteering their time for all Polson residents! Without the volunteers, the City Council would have had to appoint their own auditors to audit them… This audit was voted for by the residents.

This summer there will be two public meetings for residents to participate in. The audit commission is inviting residents to contact them with concerns. Minutes of the presentation at the Pachyderm meeting will be available soon on this website under “Who We Are/Pachyderms”.

‘America’s Worst Court’

Great reminder from a Lake County resident about why Montana citizens need to continue to fight judicial tyranny.

In an article from August 28, 2024, Mark Pulliam with The Federalist wrote:

“One elected official, Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, has been suffering for bravely confronting the state court’s wrath and incompetence. Knudsen, a Republican, has become the victim of lawfare for simply doing his job — defending state laws in court.” Read the full article: How ‘America’s Worst Court’ Blocks Judicial Reform

A Constitutional Republic, Not A Democracy

This should not be news, but considering today’s confusion in the use of the term “democracy”, it doesn’t hurt to revisit an almost 60 year old video where FBI agent Dan Smoot states, among other things, that “democracy inevitably degenerates into dictatorship”.
