A Constitutional Republic, Not A Democracy

This should not be news, but considering today’s confusion in the use of the term “democracy”, it doesn’t hurt to revisit an almost 60 year old video where FBI agent Dan Smoot states, among other things, that “democracy inevitably degenerates into dictatorship”.

Pachyderm Club hosts County Attorney – December 12

We will be holding the last Pachyderm Meeting of 2025 on Friday, December 12 at 12 noon at the Polson Rural Fire Station located at 25 Regatta Rd in Polson.  Our guest speaker for this meeting is Lake County Attorney James Lapotka who will be providing an update on Public Law 280 and various other topics pertaining to Lake County.  Mr. Lapotka will be available to answer any questions you may have as well.
We hope to see a good turnout for the last meeting of the year!

Holiday Party – December 27

Happy Holidays Everyone! The Lake County Republicans are holding their annual Holiday Party on Saturday, December 27th from 5pm-7pm at the Mission Bay Clubhouse located at 312 Montana Landing in the Mission Bay Golf Community in Polson.  Everyone attending is asked to please bring an appetizer or dessert to share as well as whatever they want to drink.  The plates, napkins, silverware and cups will be provided as well as the coffee and water.

The Clubhouse holds about 50 people so if you are planning on attending the Holiday Party, it is important that you contact Marcia Amrine as soon as possible at the following email:  marciaa@montana.com.  The attendees will be limited to a first come/first serve basis as far as who lets Marcia know – we are not able to go over the 50 people limitation!

Marcia will need to know how many people from your family/group are planning on attending this event and what you are planning to bring to share to ensure we do not have duplications on the food.

Merry Christmas

Note that during the 2023 session, the Lake County Republican Central Committee pioneered a new way for the grassroots to get involved in the legislative process: a Legislative Committee, in which members of the community can assess suggested bills before they are put forward. More active citizens are needed to bring their experience and knowledge in various matters to the table. YOU have more to contribute than you realize.

Hello, does Representative ______ have any plans to propose or support _________ legislation? This is very important to me. I did my research and saw we have/have not passed a bill on this topic in the past. I am hopeful that we will see a bill that protects all citizens from _______, not just specific industries, or whatever is appropriate to your concern. Please respond and let me know what has happened on this particular bill/subject. Thank you.

ACTION! ACTION! ACTION!

Representative government works best when you have a relationship with the people who represent you. After all, they can’t represent you unless they know who you are and what you care about. Here’s a simple way to tell them.

Please write a ‘Thank You’ note to your elected representatives and senators at the state and federal level. Welcome them to the new legislative session, it introduces you as their constituent, lets them know you are a Christian, reminds them of the biblical values you embrace, and pledges your prayer support during their term.
