Charlie Kirk discusses the fact that Montana is a MUST WIN STATE where the Senate race goes. When Donald Trump gets back into the White House, he must have the help of the U.S. Senate to get the country back on track! Judging by Charlie’s experience, many students on Missoula campuses are fortunately understanding this.

Kirk also invited Tim Sheehy to come speak, an invitation Tim was happy to accept even on the day of his debate with Jon Tester (Sept. 30)! Charlie’s description of Tim Sheehy as he met him backstage: a warm and really great guy.

Very uplifting report, but we must not be complacent. Everyone must do their part for us to win BIGLY.

“Save America Tuesdays”: On October 1st we gathered at the Republican Headquarter at 4:30 pm. We were waving flags and holding up signs in support of our candidates. What a hoot! Locations may change, but please join us for fun with friends next week!  A very uplifting experience with lots of support shown by those passing by. Some had less encouraging sign language to share, but they are forgiven, because they knoweth not what they are doing. We will save America for them also, regardless.

Today’s talking points focus on the portion of CI-128 that focus on the reproductive rights of girls and women (at the expense of the life of their unborn baby).

Abortion Never Necessary To Save The Life Of The Mother

Do not be fooled by the language of the pro-abortion CI-128.  The prolife movement does not place the rights of the unborn over that of the mother — but gives equal rights to life for all humans, irrespective of age.  Everett Koop, prior US Surgeon General, pediatrician for 38 years (witnessing many high-risk births), states he never saw a case where abortion was needed to save the mother’s life.  An international symposium on maternal healthcare concluded abortion is never medically necessary to save the life of the mother.  The reason such cases do not exist is that if a woman has a medical problem that requires surgery to save the mother’s life, if everything reasonable is done to save both mother and child and the child dies, that is not abortion.  It is easy to see the difference between performing a surgery to save the life of the mother and a procedure the intention of which is to destroy the life of the unborn child.  The difference is one of motivation, though loss of the child can occur in either case.  The more common complications of pregnancy like eclampsia occur after 20 weeks, when the child can survive outside the womb.  VOTE NO on highly deceptive Pro-Abortion CI-128.

 

Medical care for ECTOPIC/TUBAL PREGNANCIES and MISCARRIAGES are not illegal and do not need a constitutional right

Pro-abortion people would like you to believe CI-128 is needed to protect women’s reproductive rights by protecting the “health” of mothers.  Using the word “health” of mother is what opened the door to abortion for treatable and passing health conditions, such as anxiety or depression.  Understand: Medical treatments for ectopic/tubal pregnancies and miscarriages are not illegal and do not need a constitutional right.  Ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages were not investigated for criminality prior to Roe v Wade.  Arguments for CI-128 are dishonest, not based on facts.  VOTE NO on Pro-Abortion CI-128.

The ABORTION INDUSTRY includes LACK of INFORMED CONSENT

Don’t let the pro-abortion language of CI-128 fool you into believing it will promote voluntary full consent.  Abortion leaders would like you to believe abortions performed include full-informed consent of the mother.  Yet, the abortion industry is known for instances that lack informed consent, especially among the younger mothers.  Many girls and women in an unplanned pregnancy are not being given enough information to make an informed choice.  In one survey, 67% said they received no counseling beforehand; 84% reported they received inadequate counseling beforehand; 79% were not counseled about alternatives.  Another study showed over 50% of pregnant mothers who get abortions claimed they were coerced by parents, grandparents, peers, abortion industry workers, or the father of the child.  Lack of information, lack of informed consent, coercion:  This is the opposite of serving the rights of mothers.  VOTE NO on Pro-Abortion CI-128.

Montana Is Being Targeted

“CI-126 and CI-127

Montanans for Election Reform (MER) has continued to fundraise almost entirely from national organizations (not local Montanans). – Since the start of 2024, MER has raised nearly 99% of its cash from outside groups, meaning that individual donors only account for about 1% of the group’s total money raised since the start of the year. Over the course of 2024, MER has raised roughly $4.52 million and about $4.36 million of that cash has solely come from two national organizations: Article IV and Unite America PAC.” (Excerpt from a document shared by the GOP)

A concern raised at a Q&A event with local candidates on September 26th was the push for Constitutional Initiatives on matters that should be discussed in the legislature with possible bills making changes as needed to our laws, instead of changing the Constitution. It is also questionable to bring forward initiatives when Montanans themselves are not the main parties advocating for them. Food for thought: Who is pushing for changing the “Last Best Place”, and WHY? It was pointed out that the initiatives required 60,000 signatures from Montana citizens to be put on the ballot, but it is fair to ask whether all the signees were sufficiently aware of the implications of the initiatives as they were confronted with well trained and paid for signature gatherers with rehearsed lines to promote the issues.

As Linda Reksten, candidate for HD13, pointed out, abortion is already legal in Montana, so women CAN make choices about their bodies. Is CI-128 even needed?

Aside from CI-128, candidates agreed on most issues that were brought up: property taxes need to be lowered; affordable housing IS a problem to solve; the education system must be improved; the separation of Church and State – separation of powers and checks and balances – is a good thing – though interpretations can vary on whether separation of the Church pushes moral values aside as well… Each candidate vowed to represent every citizen in their districts, not just special groups.

In his closing statement, Tracy Sharp, candidate for HD12, voiced a thought that is on many minds today: this is no longer about Republican or Democrat issues. We need to come together to fight an overcentralized government.

Signage to Stop CI-128

To all 40 DFL leaders, volunteers, and all pro-life people: 40 Days for Life (40 DFL) update from Mike Hanson, Leader, Flathead County …

As some of you know, 40 DFL Campaign Director Steve Karlen issued a positive response to long-time Flathead 40 DFL board member Bill Myers’ request, in May 2024, to focus this fall’s campaign on the vigil in front of the abortion facility AND on signage to stop pro-abortion constitutional initiatives.

Per attached copy of e-mails from Steve Karlen to me, all 40 DFL campaigns nationwide are now authorized to use signage to stop constitutional initiatives.

CI-128 must be stopped in Montana. So, signage – with language approved by national 40 DFL – is now ready. The signs have been printed by Rick Jore and Bill Myers, who formed “Saving Babies: No CI-128.”

Also, Steve Karlen recommended that we pray / witness with our CI-128 signs in the most highly-visible, high-traffic locations. Locally, this will be Main and Idaho (US 2 and US 93) and other high-traffic locations.

Bill Myers has volunteered to drive around Montana for the next 6-7 weeks and deliver the signs we have printed to any county seat or city wanting signs.

We need committed volunteers NOW, especially in eastern Montana. So, call friends, relatives, etc. Talk won’t get this done. The Lord wants our response with action NOW! (See 1Timothy 1:12.) Here in Lake County, we have been fortunate to hear from Charles Garner multiple times as he has told us about the book “A Canary in a Coal Mine: Hope for a Culture in Free Fall”, and how the book has been written expressly to be used as a vehicle to help pastors mobilize their congregations and help Save America. Your part: read the book, mark parts that strike you as especially important, then take it to your pastor, or maybe someone else you think could use the insight.

Great Event – LRT Dinner

During the event, Tracy Sharp, Chairman of LCRCC, shared the news of another possible attempt at President Trump’s life. At the suggestion of Larry Ashcraft, Master of Ceremonies, those in attendance honored Donald J Trump with a moment of silence to send him prayers to keep him safe.

Larry Ashcraft. Our great Master of Ceremonies holds up the above plaque, one of the raffle prizes. How appropriate that he also was the winner! Well deserved, Larry! The plaque was donated by Gale Force Technologies & Ministries. Another coveted item was part of the live auction (depicted below). Beautiful work donated once again by the Larssons. Andy and Sheila also helped with the drawing and auction on site. Reed Tobol, professional auctioneer, added great spice and humor to the occasion.

Not all names can be mentioned, but many worked very hard to organize and make this great event happen for the community: Marcia Amrine at the helm, and Dorothy Ashcraft with her team of Lake County Republican Women making the arrangements for this annual festive event that attracted a full house on September 15.

Before anyone could line up for the buffet being prepared, lured by the the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen, candidates for the Nov 5 elections served up their policies in a few short statements as appetizers and subjects for discussion at the tables. Tracy Sharp, Chairman of the Lake County Central Committee, and candidate for House District 12, opened the presentations with the reminder that we MUST create protection against the severe trouble our country is facing today. We have a behemoth coming against all our rights! Joe Read, who is now cycling out after representing HD 91, spoke of the good feeling he has with the candidates that are now willing to do the heavy lifting for us. Get out and VOTE! Al Olszewski, with experience serving in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in Helena, also made remarks on the current situation.

In case someone is wondering about the red aprons… Proven fact: Our candidates and representatives are Willing and Ready to Serve the People! The humor and camaraderie shared at this event was priceless! Depicted are Al Olszewski, Joe Read, Tracy Sharp, Mark Nolan and David Passieri.

Other candidates speaking were Linda Reksten for HD 13, previously representing HD 12; David Passieri for HD 91; Gale Decker, running for re-election as County Commissioner; James Brown for State Auditor; Cory Swanson for Chief Justice of Montana Supreme Court; Dan Wilson for Supreme Court Justice #3; Bowen Greenwood, running for re-election as Supreme Court Clerk. Ryan Zinke, running for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, and Tim Sheehy, Candidate for the U.S. Senate, were not able to attend, but sent their greetings and a thank you for all the local support by letter and video.

It was great to see candidates “propping each other up” in so many ways. Linda Reksten not only shared the importance of voting a resounding NO on Ballot Initiative 128 (unfettered abortion at taxpayer cost, including gender surgery – more information under Elections, subtitle “NO on CI-128”), but also a reminder of how the current Montana Supreme Court keeps staying bills that need to be passed. Therefore, we must vote for justices that will determine cases based on the Constitution, not policies or personal feelings. This is what both Cory Swanson and Dan Wilson vow to do. – Here Linda holds up a newly delivered campaign sign.

Charles Garner, author of a book that just may make a “yuge” difference in our elections if we all pitch in to help – “A Canary in a Coal Mine – Hope for a Culture in Free Fall” – spoke on the violence that has become part of our culture, and the three presidents, Lincoln, Reagan and Trump, who have been targets of that violence. He pointed to the fact that our country now has two Marxists at the head. Even a Presidential Candidate who never ran or received a vote. A candidate installed, someone that believes that “rules are for thee, not for me”. Someone who appears to be a loaded gun used to commit suicide on America.

It is Charles’ firm belief that God saved Trump. He ended by saying “President Trump, you are a providential man”. Thank you for all the inspiration you bring to Lake County, Charles!

The keynote speaker for the day was Tanner Smith, someone who many hopefuls wanted to see as our future Governor. Tanner is not done working for the future of Montana, though. He was elected Montana GOP National Committeeman, and as such he will work to make the term “Republican” a BRAND that you cannot vote against if you run as a Republican! Tanner says he is not in this for himself. This is about a movement, a conservative message that will still be heard loud and clear across the state. The good working against evil!

Let’s not forget what many were impatiently waiting for: the Dessert Dash! If you weren’t there, by now you must wish you could have been there, right?
