VOTE NO on CI-132
This initiative “requires that judicial elections remain nonpartisan.” Simple but very deceiving. When voting for a Judge, voters get almost no information about how a candidate interprets the MT Constitution. Only unverified candidate advertising claims.
Yet the MT Supreme Court, like most courts in the state, clearly has a political slant. Republican efforts to reform judicial elections to require candidates to run identified with their party affiliation like any other candidate is a step toward transparency.
CI-132, if passed, would hide political party affiliation and vital information from voters.
Why are Democrats pouring so much time and money into supporting CI-132? Why is there so much out-of-state dark money coming to Montana to get CI-132 passed?
Democrats are deathly afraid that mostly Republican judges will be voted into judicial positions if party affiliation is required.
Why else have millions of dollars been spent to support this initiative?
