VOTE NO on CI-132
This initiative “requires that judicial elections remain nonpartisan.” Simple but very deceiving. When voting for a Judge, voters get almost no information about how a candidate interprets the MT Constitution. Only unverified candidate advertising claims.
Yet the MT Supreme Court, like most courts in the state, clearly has a political slant. Republican efforts to reform judicial elections to require candidates to run identified with their party affiliation like any other candidate is a step toward transparency.
CI-132, if passed, would hide political party affiliation and vital information from voters. Why are Democrats pouring so much time and money into supporting CI-132? Why is there so much out-of-state dark money coming to Montana to get CI-132 passed?
Democrats are deathly afraid that mostly Republican judges will be voted into judicial positions if party affiliation is required.
Why else has $4M been spent to support this initiative?
