Pachyderm guest speaker – May 23

Our next Lake County Pachyderm Meeting will be on Friday, May 23, beginning at 12 noon.  Our guest speaker for this meeting will be Tracy Sharp, our representative for HD 12! Come hear what our legislators were dealing with this past session.

The meeting will be held at the Polson Rural Fire Station located at 25 Regatta Road in Polson. See you there!

So much information to glean on issues that affect YOU!

On Friday the 9th, James Brown, State Auditor, shared what his office is doing for us. Management of trust lands and consumer protection are key. James reiterated that he knows the separation of powers and, hence, he works for US! Minutes to follow!
On April 25, Larry Ashcraft drew a full room at the Pachyderm meeting, speaking on the work of the Polson City Audit Commission. He was joined by another team member, Phil Thalen. It is incredible what this group of volunteering Polson residents are accomplishing.

Don’t Miss Out on Coming Events

The Flathead Republican Central Committee held their annual Lincoln Reagan Trump Dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell on Friday, May 2.  Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen was the speaker for the evening. Some prominent Lake County residents made it to Kalispell as well to represent our central committee! The happy ladies pictured are Kathy Shore and Ellen Wicklund. The handsome couple: Tracy Sharp, House Representative for HD 12 with his wife Laura at his side.

Thank you Tracy, for all the hard work this past session in Helena! Can’t have been easy…

Dr Annie Looks Back at Kid’s Climate Change Case May 19

(Kalispell)

Now that our nation is facing ever increasing power shortages, perhaps it is time to look back at the Kids Climate Change premise, case and decision. Did Held vs. Montana help or hurt Montana’s future need to maintain a balance between environmental concerns and the need to keep the lights on at the best possible price?
Let’s look! Join us Monday 5/19/25 @ noon for a presentation on this topic… Sponsored by Republican Women.
Red Lion Inn, Kalispell

4th of July Parade

September 21 – Lincoln/Reagan/Trump Dinner

Did you miss this? March 8, David O. Chung did a presentation and book-signing.

David “Doc” O. Chung wrote the book “Face of the Enemy”. Available, for example, on Amazon – five stars! With the debacle going on about whether to support the Ukraine war or not, this book sure puts things in perspective. Vietnam… Why? Will similar disasters happen again? Was Vietnam a continuation of something else? Who are the winners in a war? Is it necessary to cause so much bloodshed and allow it to continue? Great conversations with someone who has been there to experience it first hand.

More recommended reading: “The Easter Offensive”, Colonel G.H. Turley; “Healing Wounds”, Diane Carlson Evans; “The Women”, Kristin Hannah.

Plan on attending meetings if at all possible with your schedule. There is so much to know and learn. Your part in promoting what you learn could be as simple as telling your friends all about it!

On February 28, Elaine Willman, author of the book “American Tribal Tyranny” came to answer questions and give us more insight on what inspired her to write this book. Great meeting! Thank you, Elaine! Minutes of the meeting have been posted under “Who We Are/Pachyderms” (note that they also include links to 2 podcasts; conversations between Linda Sauer and Elaine!) We may even have a video of this meeting coming, since David Passieri was there eternalizing it all! Thank you for doing that to help us stay informed, Dave!
